I am obsessed with creating characters who exist in the periphery; giving voice to those who may not be heard. But by the grace of the universe, the ghostwriting screenplays I have been hired to pen and the gracious actors that have allowed me to direct them have given me opportunity to explore those worlds. Along the way, I have written a few feature films and a television series of my own – all in various stages of preparation to be filmed by my company, A Making Mudpies Production.

How this writing, directing, producing thing all began…

Los Angeles, for me, was a playground for cutting-edge music, illimitable culture and scorching concrete. It had a pulse unlike I have ever experienced. I was blessed to have a very solid artistic network of friends from graduating high school and college there. We were writing, producing, performing in our own theater and film projects. Looking back, we were just too young, bold, and naive to believe in limitations or intimidation. What’s the saying, “Build your own garden and plant your own soul instead of waiting for someone to bring you flowers?” I got my shot at producing when I was hired to be an assistant for a TV big-wig. My first day of work I broke her computer; I didn’t even know how to turn it on. But three months later, she trusted me to start writing and freelance producing for network reality television. Being thrown into the fast-paced, celebrity-ridden opulence that is L.A. can make a gal grow up fast. I moved to L.A. as a young, bright-eyed girl. I left as a woman who isn’t intimidated by much.

A Making Mudpies Production

I am grateful for my writing experiences in reality TV, but to quench my thirst for narrative storytelling I needed to tap into a different space… so I started A Making Mudpies Production.

Through Making Mudpies, I completed many feature-length screenplays for hire; edited, revamped, and consulted on a multitude of scripts as ghostwriter; wrote THEM THAT‘S GOT (currently in pre-pro); created and wrote nine episodes for a television concept (in development); and continue to produce and direct.
